The two have joined forces to craft a special abode among the clouds atop OSK Property’s award-winning $2.8 billion Melbourne Square
precinct in Southbank, where the Malaysian developer has just released a prestige collection of three, four and five bedroom properties on its upper levels. The Couture Series is an inspiring collection of penthouses located on levels 55-68, which draws on Melbourne Square’s location on the doorstep of the globally recognised Arts Precinct.

Hub and Carr have imagined a statement $12 million penthouse as a curated personal gallery for the right buyer, boasting pieces by Canadian David Umemoto, Britain’s Faye Toogood and a rare piece by the late Flavio De Carvalho for Objekto, among many other design luminaries.

The pieces are arrayed amid an expansive 600 square metre double-height penthouse, with soaring high ceilings, a statement marble staircase and its own private gallery space.

It is a fitting jewel in the crown of the development, which was awarded the ‘Residential High-rise Architecture’

and the ‘Mixed-use Development’ Awards at the recent 2019/20 Asia Pacific Property Awards in Bangkok.

Chairman of OSK Property, Tan Sri Ong Leong Huat, said the team was thrilled to be recognised alongside some of the best names in the industry globally.

Chairman of OSK Property, Tan Sri Ong Leong Huat, said the team was thrilled to be recognised alongside some of the best names in the industry globally.

“This award places Melbourne Square among some of the world’s most significant projects that have redefined the bounds of architecture and reinvigorated city precincts,” he said.

“It is a rarity to be recognised for two awards – we are most proud of this achievement and hope that our future occupants share our excitement at these wins.

“Melbourne Square will not only deliver a beautiful addition to Melbourne’s skyline but provide transformative public space that residents and the surrounding community will be able to enjoy as part of the enhanced Arts Precinct.”

Carr Design’s Director of Architecture, Chris McCue,said the special penthouse collaboration resulted in a beautifully appointed and one-of-a-kind home nestled amid the Melbourne Arts Precinct.

“The sense of luxury in the Melbourne Square penthouse isn’t just spatial, but also emotional. The gallery concept taps into the excitement of discovering new talent, being ahead of the pack and securing amazing works that will appreciate over time,” he said.

“When we design for luxury we think beyond a floor plan or materials palette and use the interiors to create mood and emotion. Hub Furniture has amplified this by sourcing rare and unique items that add to the drama and beauty of the living experience.”

Hub Furniture Director Jacqueline Foti-Lowe said many of the pieces featuring in Melbourne Square’s new Couture Series campaign were rare, collectable and highly sought after.

“We source from our collections, antique markets and artists both locally and internationally to ensure an eclectic mix that is rich and diverse. With this depth, we can be sure to hit the high notes on furniture, lighting and accessories selections to deliver interiors that tell a unique story and speak to warmth and character. We aim to tell a story through our work that is so much more than a mere solution,” she said.

“At Melbourne Square, Carr Design’s interiors set the stage for us to bring together the things we have spent over 16 years curating. It’s a pleasure to work with the best at this level and Carr have certainly created that at Melbourne Square. The results are always worth the heart and soul that go into them.”

CBRE Managing Director of Residential Projects Victoria, Andrew Leoncelli, said Melbourne’s penthouse market was one of the most sophisticated in the Asia Pacific region and accordingly attracted interest from around the globe.

“Melbourne Square’s penthouse is already a very compelling offering to a premium property purchaser who appreciates quality, location and value and we expect it to do very well,” Mr Leoncelli.

“The space is imagined as a live-in gallery and the offering has been elevated to a new level with the inclusion of some of the best emerging art globally to create a truly curated and special home on our skyline.”

He noted that one of the many unique aspects of the penthouse’s design was that it was flexible and could easily be transformed for its occupier.

“The Melbourne Square penthouse might be a gallery space for an art lover, a wellness retreat, or a performer’s entertaining space. With such limited availability, and construction well underway, we expect this campaign to gather a lot of interest from buyers,” he said.

“There is still an opportunity for a discerning buyer to create the ultimate customised apartment and combine the two Melbourne Square penthouses into a 1200square metre, $25 million home.”

Melbourne Square’s Couture Series is on sale now, offering fully-customisable premium three, four and five bedroom residences priced from $1.37 – $12 million.

Melbourne Square is currently under construction, with the first settlements expected later this year and full completion of stage one by end of 2020.
